Lately I’ve been trying a new hobby of exploring new places around Australia. Isn’t it funny how when we travel to foreign places we are more prone to going to all the touristy places whereas in our own home land we never try to explore?
I have been to Tokyo Sky Tree, San Francisco Golden Gate Bridge, The London Eye, Arc De Triomphe, Hollywood Walk of Fame and every casino in Las Vegas Strip but have never thought twice about climbing the Harbour Bridge, seeing a show at the Opera House or exploring beautiful places like Winifred Falls.
Last Sunday I had the pleasure of experiencing my first hiking adventure. The group of us drove down to the Royal National Park and parked on Warumbul Road. This beautiful place is approximately one kilometre away if you walk down the Winifred Falls Trail downhill. This place is located in the heart of the Royal National Park and the walk can get quite muddy (the day we went it was storming and raining in the morning) so definitely do NOT wear white or precious shoes and you may want to bring an extra pair of socks. This is also a great place to swim so don’t forget to pack some swimming gear too!
